Topical CBD may have significant benefits for skin health

Skin health is important to overall wellness because physical and psychological discomfort with one’s own skin is difficult to escape. In light of this, ENFLEUR is happy to present research that suggests that CBD has several lab-tested benefits for skin, in terms of both healing and prevention and is effective when topically applied.

–       CBD has been shown to affect melanogenesis, which “plays a critical role in the protection of skin against external stressors such as ultraviolet radiation and oxidative stressors”.

–       CBD has anti-inflammatory properties.Studies have shown that CBD has successfully aided in reducing the inflammation that underlies skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

–       CBD has antioxidant properties greater than that of vitamin C and E. Because of this, it may be efficacious in fighting the oxidative process of aging that results in fine lines and wrinkles.

–       CBD has shown promise as a treatment for acne vulgarisbecause it acts as an anti-inflammatory and balances oil production in human sebocytes, the cells that compose the glands in the skin that secrete oil.

In addition to this, topical application of CBD is effective because the skin has cannabinoid receptors for interacting with the endocannabinoid system. That’s to say that rubbing a topical CBD product on your skin does get CBD into the body where it’s able to do its work bringing balance between the different systems of the body, a condition called homeostasis.

Why does this matter? CBD has clinically demonstrated efficacy in a range of applications that have the potential to heal and protect the skin.
